Why Should I Choose a Word of the Year… [in 2024]
“The seeds of death are at work in us, but LOVE is stronger than death. Your death and mine are our final passage, our exodus to the full realization of our identity as God’s beloved children and to full communion with the God of Love.
Jesus walked the path ahead of us to choose the same path during our lifetime. He calls to us “Follow me.” [And] He assures us, “Do not be afraid.” This is our faith.” – Henri Nouwen
We are loved, friends. We are held safe in His loving arms. All we need to do is surrender; trusting in His goodness!
Although the end of 2023 revealed my need for such a big word of the year as “surrender,” what I think it taught me most was this: SURRENDER is the secret to my holiness. And perhaps, who knows, God may be calling me in 2024 to “Surrender 2.0″, but He is also revealing “loved” as its beautiful companion.
Choosing a ‘Word of the Year’ has become more to me than just a yearly thing I do. Choosing a #wordoftheyear, with God at the center of my choosing, has proven itself to be a direct helpline to His goodness. Especially, in times of distress, trouble, or struggle.
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10
