Taking a Giant Step Towards Holiness [because…]

And we all could use a dose of holiness right about now… I don’t know about you, but I am far from perfect when it comes to loving others well. I often struggle the most in the small, daily annoyances of humanity. Last week, I readily shared this character flaw with hubby. And in his…

How to Love Your [Political] Enemies

“In the end, we LOVE people into belief. We do not argue them into belief.” – Tim Keller The political season seems to bring out the worst in all of us and on both sides of the proverbial fence. No one ever wins or changes another’s mind when spewing hate online. Hate does not overcome…

The Secret [Lesson] of Life…

Humility isn’t exactly a characteristic we value much less elevate nowadays… “Humility has a dank and shameful smell to the worldly, the scent of failure, lowliness and obscurity.”* But Jesus came into this world humble in birth and he died on the cross equally in stature. He set the finest example in humility for all…

How Much Should I Give… #GivingTuesday

The holiday season is a time when we think about giving… Especially, nowadays, with #GivingTuesday! But how much should we give… The woman with the oil gave all she had!?  ************************* Five years ago, I issued the very first Love Challenge to myself… It was at the height of the Ice Bucket Challenge. I remember…

How to Love Others… {Mr. Roger’s Style}

This past summer as I was leaving church one Sunday morning, out of nowhere, I had the thought “I wonder if Mr. Rogers knew what he was doing when he wrote the song “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” My suspicion told me the answer was a resounding, yes! So, when I began investigating, a few…

When Cancer is a Gift…

“And there’s this other, funny thing… I love, more!  L O V E . That’s all I feel.” These are the words of a dying man. “Nothing but love.” he says. These words have haunted me since I first read them two Autumn’s ago… I read them, sadly, days after hearing of my friend’s passing. (Those who follow…

#MeToo… Understanding the Enemy

My post is less about my #MeToo story but more about… understanding the enemy. ************************ To borrow words from a friend, the #MeToo movement has been amazing for galvanizing public outcry. The ‘Objectification’ of another person is to de-humanize that person. The person is no longer viewed as living but rather as an object; without…

WHY I Give… A Lesson My Grandmother Taught Me

My grandma always gave a little something to every organization who solicited her (ie: Red Cross, etc..) I’m beyond convinced she based this practice on biblical truth. It always impressed me how she lived her faith like that… It is very easy to say no to a piece of mail!? *********** When…

How I Came Face-to-Face With A Sex Trafficker

Earlier this week, I relayed the story of how God prompted me to attend the National Summit for Ending Sexual Exploitation in DC last May. What I didn’t mention in that post, I hope will forever change your view about the pervasiveness of pornography… It is the story of  ‘How I Came Face-to-Face With…

Discouraged by the events of the day, I sensed God Discouraged by the events of the day, I sensed God nudging me to look out my car window. Shining through the steamy rays of what felt like endless disappointment was a perfect reminder of GOD’S PROMISE smiling back at me.

“Dare I hope, Lord?”, I thought.

I’d experienced this sort of nudging once before with another rainbow sighting. Again, the pervading thought, “Dare I hope, Lord?”

I’m reminded of the rare, double rainbow Nashville’s @covenantknights experienced in 2023 when tragedy threatened their hope in an unseen God. And I’m perfectly wrecked all over again by the goodness of God. And the audacity of hope!

The promise of the rainbow is God’s gift to a broken, troubled world. It represents the perfect and the imperfect, the seen and the unseen, the now and the not yet.

“Show me your ways, Lord, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my savior—and my hope is in you all day long (Psalm 25:4-6).”

Our hope, as believers, rests in an unseen reality. Dare to hope in the promises of the Lord. He really does love us, y’all!

Have you experienced a true-blue, storm-wrapped promise fulfilled through a rainbow sighting? As always, I’d love to hear. 💕

Hope is life-giving. And Jesus is our living hope! Hope is life-giving. And Jesus is our living hope! He brings us out of death and despair—and places within us “the hope of glory” (Col. 1:27).

Hope is the characterization of our salvation in Christ. And where there is Hope, there is life—abundantly (John 10:10). Who wouldn’t want to share the good news of a living hope with a world in desperate need of a Savior?

The presence of living hope in our lives transforms us from the inside out. And when we rely on our hope in Him for the abundant life, our lives are filled with joy. HOPE is meant to be shared, y’all!
